Introduction to RefWorks

We started to use Summon (our electronic resources catalogue) in January, but maybe some of you didn't notice the link to RefWorks at the right top of Summon homepage.

What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is web-based bibliographic and database manager that allows users to import, save and organize references and citations.

Why it's a precious resource for researchers?

It's possible to use RefWorks in many ways:

1. With Summon:
When you search for articles in Summon, you have the possibility to save items in a temporary folder that will be cleared when you leave or after an extended period of inactivity. But if you need to save your searches for more time, for example to read them later or to use the reference in your research papers, you can export them in RefWorks.

You can sign up to RefWorks for free and create your personal account where to save and organize all your references.

2. With other resources and databases:
Once you created your account, you can import references also from other databases or publishers' websites (as in Fig. 3).
